Welcome to our International Sailing Course, the only fast and complete 2 weeks sailing school in Europe!

We are offering a complete course in co-operation with N.O.N.K.E sailing school. The instructor, Mr. Petros Makris is a National acclaimed Commander who is constantly active in regattas in Greece. He shares a profound love and appreciation for the sea element together with a deep knowledge of the techniques which will help you master your own sailing boat. Because of our experience more than 20 years with the sea we are able to offer this English speaking complete 2 week sailing course which is normally offered during 2 months. During this sailing school you will be receiving more than 80 hours of practical blue water sailing experience plus a 3 hour theory every day. We are convinced that this will enable you to master the necessary knowledge allowing you to be confident and competent with your own crew during you future sailing trips.

WINTER-SPRING OPEN SEA SAILING COURSE

• Types of Sailing Yachts, Sailing Boat Nomenclature and equipment. Nautical Terms. Sailing course of a sail yacht. Knots and Balance on the Yacht.
• Navigation, Directions, Distances, Map Navigation, Course using compass, Compass Deviation
• I. C. A. R. International Navigation Rules and use on the sea, Light-house, Course deviation, Communication at sea, Sea documents nomenclature and Sea Laws.
• Aerodynamics, Pressure, True and Apparent wind, Sail trimming
• Danger conditions at sea and risks, Man overboard salvation techniques, Boat emergency items and use Basic engineering and Electricity basics
• Meteorology, Barometric systems understanding, Meteorological maps, Weather forecasts and prognosis.
• First aid, Nausea, Accidents at sea, Risks evaluation ( hypothermia, sun-stroke), Boat Pharmaceuticals.
• Boat handling using sails and motor, Dock securing Bow and Stern, Safe anchorage, Anchor types.

2 day trip focusing on application of the above theoretical knowledge

The sailing course involves 8 more sailing days focusing on practical knowledge of sailing.
